The boys capped off a record-making season with an IESA 2A State Tournament matchup with Oglesby Washington. The boys played exceptionally hard, overcoming an early double-digit deficit. Jase Canada led all scorers with 24 points on 9-13 shooting and tied an IESA state record for made three pointers with 6. Ultimately, the Raiders fell in a hard-fought battle 45 - 37 to capture the fourth-place trophy!
Coach Thompson had this to say after the game: “This team was such a blessing to coach. We had two mottos this year, team over me and winners never quit! These young men held true to these words. I am beyond proud to be a small part. Raider Nation is Back!!!!!”
The Raiders 8th Grade Boys Basketball team ended their historic middle school careers with back-to-back regional championships, back-to-back sectional championships, and a school record 24 wins.
Raider Nation is very proud of your accomplishments and can't wait to see that you do in your High School years!

For the first time in MCMS history our 8th Grade Boys’ Basketball Team will be playing in the IESA STATE FINAL FOUR game tonight at 6:00 PM! Raider Nation is so proud of this team and its coaches! Good luck tonight; bring home that 3rd place title!

Scholastic Bowl faced Dee-Mack last night in the first home meet. The Raiders lost both games, but improvement was shown all around on both the A and B team. Cozy and Aydenn both had two toss ups correct in the A match. The B Match had Liam with 4 tossups correct and Hadley with 3 correct. Next match is at home against Georgetown next Tuesday.
8th grade Algebra students had fun today with a "Function Auction." The goal was to identify and "purchase" the most functions by outbidding the other groups. Mrs. Keaschall loved hearing the debates and couldn't help but laugh at how fast some groups ran out of "money!" There will definitely be more auctions in the future!
Students - MCMS is producing The Beauty and The Beast Jr. this spring and sign ups are on the What’s Poppin Board. Auditions are 2/25 & 2/28, make sure to take a character sheet that is also located on the What’s Poppin Board to see what role you would like to audition for.

MS Scholastic Bowl vs DeeMack – 4:00 PM; 121 N Church St, Green Valley, IL 61534
For the second consecutive year, the Raiders basketball team is heading to the STATE TOURNAMENT!
In a repeat of last year’s Sectional Championship, the Raiders downed Decatur Catholic 34-28 to capture the 2A Sectional Championship at Decatur St. Teresa!
The game was tight from the opening tipoff, with both teams taking leads throughout the game until Jase Canada hit a go ahead 3 on an assist from Joe Proehl with 4:45 left in the fourth to give the Raiders the lead 26-24. Two clutch free throws by Evan Schmidt after a big defensive stop increased the lead to 28-24.
After Decatur cut the lead to 2 after a loose ball scramble, Joe Proehl got a huge steal and rebound on consecutive possessions and added some free throws with 1:26 left in the game to make it 30-26, and then 4 clutch free throws down the stretch from Canada sealed the game and the Raiders second straight Sectional Championship!
Canada finished the night with a game high 17 points on an efficient 5 of 9 from field, including a perfect 4 for 4 from the charity stripe. Joe Proehl added a compete game with 9 points, 7 boards, 5 dimes and a steal! Jake Hunter hit a huge three pointer and 2 more rebounds as the Raiders won the game on the glass, out rebounding Decatur Catholic 21-17.
The Raiders now will play in the Elite 8 this Saturday at Kankakee Bishop McNamara at 11:30 against Milford.
