The 7th grade Raiders opened their regional play with strong performances from Max Dierker and Zayne Arthalony, as well as strong bench play to roll to a 49-30 victory over Illini Central to advance to the Regional semifinal!
Dierker had a monster game for the Raiders, finishing with 17 points while Arthalony channeled his inner Steph Curry, dropping 4 three pointers in the game to add 15 to the mix as the Raiders zoomed out to a 32-9 halftime lead! The Raiders also got strong play from Jaxson Robinson and Leelinn Danner off the bench as both contributed big buckets for the victorious Raiders!
With the win the Raiders advance to the Regional semifinal on Monday at 6:30 at Georgetowne Middle School with a rematch against Havana!
The Raiders basketball teams wrapped up their regular seasons with a conference matchup split against Illini Bluff, losing 36-35 in overtime in the 7th grade game and dominating the Tigers 52-23 in the 8th grade game!
The 8th grade Raiders scored 32 points in the first half through a balanced scoring attack with 7 players contributing 5 or more points. Josh Dawe led the way with 11, while JJ Proehl, Malachi Carroll, and Brendan Carton all had 8 points and Jaxson Bennet (6), Ryan Terrill (5), and Jacob Hummel (5) also had multiple buckets for the Raiders!
With the split, both teams finish their regular seasons with matching 15-7 records as they look to prepare for the postseason with the 8th graders hosting their Regional in Green Valley and the #2 ranked 7th graders travel to Georgetown on Saturday to face the 7th seeded Illini Central Cougars!
The 6th Grade Boys basketball team will compete in the DeeMack Tournament tonight and tomorrow night!
The 7th Grade Boys basketball team will compete in the Regional game tomorrow. Game time is 10:30 AM and they will play against Illini Central. The game will be played at Georgetowne Middle School.

The Lady Raiders had their first home game of the season on Thursday evening. Both teams were able to defeat Delavan!!
The 7th grade Lady Raiders took Delavan to 3 with scores of 25-13, 20-25, and 25-14. Alyssa Guawitz serves were strong, she had 10 points with 6 of them aces. Katie Parkin was also able to pick up 10 points for the Lady Raiders. Grace Meeks was strong on defense with her passing.
The 8th grade defeated Delavan in 2 games 25-18 and 25-20. In the first game the raiders were down by 7 and Emma Junkin went on a run with 9 points. She finished the evening with 12. Amelia Meeker was strong in the front row with 8 hits, 4 of them being kills. She also had 5 aces for the evening. Eliza Kerley had 2 blocks and 2 kills.

The boys basketball team will travel to Illini Bluffs. The game starts at 5:00 PM.

The Raiders split a tough matchup against Edison tonight, dropping the first game 30-29. Joe Proehl had 13 points and Zayne Arthalony added 12, but a 2 point third quarter was the difference in the game. With the loss the 7th graders move to 15-6 on the season.
But tonight was about 8th grade night. The Raiders made some huge plays down the stretch to make their 8th grade night a memorable one, downing the Edison Panthers 35-32 in overtime! Ryan Terrill had 13 big points, while Malachi Carroll and Josh Dawe both contributed 8 as the Raiders got some huge free throws from Dawe and Brendan Carton down the stretch to pick up their 14th win of the season!
The Raiders look to wrap up their regular season with a matchup against Illini Bluffs on Thursday!
Both teams defeated Parkview last night. 8th Grade started getting hyped before the game even started!! They were able to set the beat of the game for the 7th Grade. Everyone on both teams were able to contribute to the wins!
7th Grade started off wanting to collect their first win of the season. They were able to make that happen 25-19 and 25-15. McKenzie Gale and Katie Parkin led the Lady Raiders with 7 points each. Alyssa Guawitz had 3 aces to help. Emma Markle stepped in as libero and had an amazing back row hit.
8th Grade came out playing their game from the start. They defeated Parkview 25-16 and 25-17. Addison Friedrich led the points with 10. Amelia Meeker had 4 aces and 8 hits. Emma Junkin and Rhiannon Sigmon both had 5 hits.

Volleyball News - The Lady Raiders were able to pick up a win and loss at Havana last night.
The 7th grade battled hard after being down by 8 at one point in the first game. They were a little short with a 26-28 and 16-25 loss. McKenzie Gale’s serving was strong with 9 points. Grace Meeks led the team with digs.
The 8th Grade Team went in ready to dominate. They were able to defeat Havana in two games, 25-17 and 25-23. Addison Friedrich’s serves were on fire with 11 points and 7 of them being aces. Amelia Meeker was big in the front row with 8 hits and 3 blocks. Eliza Kerley had 4 blocks. Rhiannon Sigmon stepped in as setter with several assists for the team. Kaleigh Herrman and Abby Markle both had key passes in the back row. The bench was able to keep the momentum up with their cheering. Way to go Lady Raiders!!

In Basketball - The Raiders 7th grade basketball team started out on a 17-4 run and never looked back, cruising to a 38-22 victory over Tremont! The Raiders used high pressure defense to turn the Turks over and held them to 8 points through the first three quarters. Zayne Arthalony had a big game for the victors, scoring 15 points with 3 big 3 pointers and Joe Proehl added 8 as the Raiders rolled to their 14th victory of the season!
In 8th grade action, it was a hard fought game with the Raiders trailing 25-19 at half, ultimately falling 49-36. The Raiders fall to 13-6 with the loss.
