Henry's ELA students were hard at work last week revising their analytical paragraphs for the short story "7th Grade" by Gary Soto. Students have been implementing Point, Evidence, Explanation and Elaboration in their writing and using transitions. Well done Raiders!

Today was dress as what you want to be in the future day and we saw some pretty cool aspirational outfits in the halls!

Last night the Scholastic Bowl team traveled to Greenview for the Regional Championship. In the first match against Greenview we cruised to a comfortable 255 to 155 victory. They followed up with a big win against New Holland 310-135.
The Final round was set for the rematch and revenge match against Illini Central for the championship. It was a back and forth and tense match, but we lost in the end 250 to 210 finishing our season at 7-3.
For the night, Jackson answered 14 toss ups and Audrey with 11 with multiple other teammates contributing. The team showed great growth and improvement over the season. Mr. Bernhardt can say that he believes that they tried their best and had no regrets during the championship. He is proud of them and hopes they can take what they learned over the season and apply it to their future schooling and life.
Coach Bernhardt wants to thank all Raider families and athletes for a great 1st season!

Looks like fun was had on Camo Day AND Disney Day!!

Last Friday, the MCMS Scholastic Bowl team had a scavenger hunt at the library. Coach Bernhardt hid 18 minions around the Forman Valley Library and handed out a clue sheet to each team/individual. Most of the minions were hidden in books but some were hidden elsewhere like in George the plant. A one-hour time limit was given, and we had two groups of winners! Both Sabrina and then Team Addi/Khloe found 13 of the clues!
After the scavenger hunt, the team had a meal together graciously cooked by Coach Bernhardt's parents Caroline and Steve Bernhardt. The team also watched Despicable Me to help culture coach a little. A big thank you goes to the Forman Valley Library for the assistance and for hosting the event.
Regionals will be played this Wednesday (April 26th) at Greenview!
