The Raiders basketball teams continued their scorching starts by toppling the Rankin Rebels Thursday evening!
In the 7th grade game the Raiders jumped out to a 19-2 first quarter lead and cruised to a 54-10 victory! The Raiders uptempo style and pressure defense bothered the Rebels all evening, with the Raiders never allowing more than 4 points in any quarter. 13 different Raiders reached the scoring column, led by Joe Proehl's 9 points! Johnny McFarland, Jaxton Bolen, and Breckin Guy all added 6 points and Jase Canada and Evan Schmidt also added 5 each as the Raiders extended their winning streak to 2 and improved their record to 7 - 1 on the season!
In the 8th grade game, back to back three pointers by Zayne Arthalony propelled the Raiders out to a 10-2 lead in the first quarter, and they held that lead the entire night as they extended their winning streak to 3 with a 33 - 25 win! Rankin had no answer for Blake Molitor all night. "Slim Jim" finished the game with a team high 20 points, including a big stretch in the third quarter where Molitor had a crucial bucket on a big assist from Cade Brotherton to slow down the Rankin charge and a big and 1 shot to up the lead to 7 on a big assist from Jaxon Tumilty which put the game to bed for the now 6 - 2 Raiders!
The Raiders head into the weekend looking to get rested and healthy as they head to Farmington on Tuesday for a big matchup beginning at 6:00 PM!

A back and forth 4th kept the game tight with Midwest Central clinging to a 24 - 22 lead until a HUGE three pointer by "Icee" Joe Proehl with 1:15 left in the game to give the Raiders a 27 - 22 lead that they would hold until the end!
