
Following a tough loss in the 7th grade game, the 8th grade boys basketball team rebounded from a tough loss Tuesday night to defeat Brimfield 43 - 33 Thursday night!
Blake Molitor had a monster game for the Raiders, scoring at least 2 buckets every quarter for the Raiders and ended up with 21 points! 5 other Raiders hit the scoring column as well, with Zayne Arthalony adding 8 points and Cade Brotherton hitting two big three pointers for 6 points!
The 7th grade Raiders now sit at 5 - 1 and the 8th grade at 4 - 2 as they both look to keep their strong seasons going against Parkview on Monday night at home beginning at 5:30 PM!

It's 8th grade night for these Midwest Central/Delavan basketball girls. Games starts at 5:30 PM @ Midwest Central Middle School in Green Valley.

The 7th grade Raiders basketball team jumped out to a 25-8 lead at half and never looked back, doubling up the score on the Havana Ducks 50-25 to remain undefeated at 5-0! Defensively the Raiders got after the Ducks from the start, forcing 18 turnovers and making life hard on the Ducks all night. Joe Proehl led the Raiders charge with 19 points and Breckin Guy added 14 to the winning cause! In 8th grade action the Raiders dropped a close one to the Ducks 29-25 to move to 3-2 on the season. The Raiders look to keep things going Thursday with a big matchup at Brimfield!

The 7th grade Raiders basketball team passed their first big test of the season using toughness and strong defense on the road to remain undefeated as they beat the Lewistown Indians 26 - 15 in a messy game Monday night! The Raiders got big games out of Breckin Guy who dropped in 13 points and Colton Watts also who also added 6 points for the now 4 - 0 Raiders!
In 8th grade action, the Raiders rode the momentum from Saturday's dramatic buzzer beater to jump out to an early 17-2 lead and never looked back, taking down the Indians 44 - 29! The Raiders got multiple buckets from 6 different players with Zayne Arthalony's 14 points and Blake Molitor's 10 points leading the charge! Max Dierker (6 points), Cade Brotherton, Jaxson Robinson (5 points apiece) and Owen Kolves (4 points) finished out the scoring for the now 3 - 1 Raiders! The Raiders look to keep their hot starts going with games at home tonight against the Havana Ducks beginning at 5:15 PM!
MC/D 7th grade girls basketball defeated South Fulton 34-19 Monday night. Peyton Bernshausen had 15 points, Kenzie Doty 9, Charlie Green 3 points and some great defense, Julia Rasmussen had 2, Nora Dierker 2, Tenley Burrell 2 and Jaina Butler added 1.
The Midwest Central/Delavan 8th grade girls added another win to their 13-3 record beating South Fulton last night 40-35. Leading the way was Cally DeSutter pouring in 15 points. Peyton Bernshausen added 7, Kenzie Doty had 6 points. Mia Warner contributed 5 points. Kara Lowry had 3 points, and Jaylyn Diekhoff and Lela Danner each added 2 points each. We will be celebrating the 8th grade team on Thursday against Chillicothe.

Facing Lincoln in the final games of the Tip-Off Classic, the Raiders basketball teams brought home the hardware on Saturday afternoon, winning the 7th grade championship in dominating fashion and taking home the second place plaque in on a buzzer beater in the 8th grade tournament!
In 7th grade action, the Raiders cruised to the title behind a dominating 47-13 showing to move to 3-0 on the young season. 9 different Raiders hit the scoring column, led by Joe Proehl's 11 points and 8 steals and Jase Canada's efficient 10 points on 4 of 5 shooting from the floor. Breckin Guy also added 8 points and Noah Coffey 6 points for the champs!
While the 8th grade Tip-Off Classic championship was determined in the morning slot of games, the best game of the tournament was saved for the last game. The Raiders trailed most of the game but went ahead when it mattered most. with Zayne Arthalony splashing a three as the clock hit zero to give the Raiders a 23-20 victory over the Trojans! The Raiders used fantastic defense in the second half to give themselves a chance for the victory, holding Lincoln scoreless in the third quarter and only allowing 4 points in the fourth quarter. Zayne Arthalony led the Raiders scoring charge with 7 points and Max Dierker also chipped in 6 big points. Breckin Guy also came in and supplied some huge help off the bench, contributing 5 points to the now 2-1 Raiders!
The Boys Basketball team will travel to Lewistown for a 6:00 PM. Good luck Raiders!



The 8th grade Midwest Central/Delavan girls defeated Brimfield 29-10 Friday night in Green Valley. Leading the way was Cally DeSutter and Kara Lowry with 11 and 8 points. Kenzie Doty added 3 points and Willow Gomez, Ava Warner, and Jakiya Ware Jackson all contributed 2 points. The Lady Raiders are now 12-3. The Girls Basketball team will host VIT tonight. MC/D sixth grade girls basketball beat Fieldcrest 37 to 11 and Tremont 17 to 12 Sunday. Zoey Carlton had 9 points, Nora Dierker had 8, Tenley Burrell 8, Lydia Fisher 7, Jaina Butler 6, Sophia Holeman 4, Kate Rollo 3, Izzy Friedrich 2 and Eliza Junkin 2. The MC/D 7th grade girls ran their record to 13-2 Friday night with a 26-20 victory over a 13-1 Brimfield team. Peyton Bernshausen had 11 points, Kenzie Doty 7, Nora Jockisch 4, Sophia Holeman 2 and Julia Rasmussen 2.

The Raiders basketball teams swept a pair from the Stags of Hartem Monday night, winning the 7th grade game 47 - 22 and 41 - 9 in the 8th grade game!
In game 1, 10 different Raiders reached the scoring column with Joe Proehl dropping 20 on the Stags and Jaxton Bolen and Breckin Guy both added 6 to the winning cause. Noah Coffey also dropped in a 3 in the winning effort!
The 7th grade Raiders moved to 2 - 0 on the young season with a chance to win the Tip Off Classic title outright against Lincoln on Saturday afternoon!
In game 2, the Raiders used suffocating defense and balanced scoring to lead the charge, allowing only 5 points in the first half and 4 points in the second half. 6 different Raiders reached the scoring columng with Zayne Arthalony leading the way with 15 points! Max Dierker (6 points), Blake Molitor (8 points), Leelinn Danner and Owen Kolves (5 points) all also had multiple buckets for the now 1-1 Raiders!
The 8th grade Raiders also look to keep their tournament hopes alive with a game against the Lincoln Trojans on Saturday afternoon!


MC/D 7th grade girls basketball improved their record to 13-2 with a 44-12 victory over Pekin Rankin. Peyton Bernshausen led the balanced scoring with 16 points, Kenzie Doty had 14, Lydia Fisher 4, Zoey Carlton 4, Tenley Burrell 2, Charlie Green 2 and Sophia Holeman added 2.
The Midwest Central/Delavan 8th grade Lady Raiders fought a battle with the Lady Rebels and came out on top 39-35. Balanced scoring from Cally DeSutter with 9, both Mia Warner and Kenzie Doty added 6 each, Kara Lowry added 5, Jaylyn Diekhoff had 3, and Peyton Bernshausen came off the bench in the 4th quarter to light a fire adding 10 points.

The Midwest Central/ Delavan Lady Raiders played Mt Pulaski in the first round of the Logan County Tournament. The girls won with balanced scoring. Cally DeSutter lead her team with 10 points. Right behind her were Kara Lowry and Kenzie Doty with 8. Mia Warner scored 6 and Ava Warner added 4. Jaylyn Diekhoff hit 2 free throws to help the team beat Mt Pulaski 38-26. The Lady Raiders lost in the championship game to defending state champs West Lincoln Broadwell.
