Down 2 in the bottom of the 7th and 2 in the bottom of the 8th didn't stop the Raiders baseball team from picking up its 5th win of the season, defeating Athens 9-8 in extra innings! Trailing 6-4 in the bottom of the 7th, the Raiders got a huge, 2 RBI single from Grant Rasmussen and then Caden Abbott delivered the game winning double in the bottom of the 8th to walk the Raiders off with a win!
Joe Proehl was the winning pitcher in relief, and Ryan Terrill, Kam Merrill, and Grant Rasmussen all collected 2 hits, with Rasmussen and Abbott both collecting 2 RBIs.
In game 2 action, the Raiders cruised to a 7-1 victory to complete the sweep. Max Dierker picked up the win and Malachi Carroll picked up 2 RBIs for the victorious Raiders.
The Raiders now sit at 5-2 on the season with a matchup on Thursday against Canton.
Incorrect Picture Day Info...
In the August 23rd Manito Review, it mentions Midwest Central School pictures are Thursday, 8/25 for ALL students.
That is incorrect. The Primary and Middle School will have a picture day announced at a later time. ONLY MCHS pictures are Thursday, 8/25 for ALL high school students, including seniors.

The Raiders baseball team capped off a 4-1 week with a night at Dozer Park rooting on the Chiefs! We missed those that couldn’t make it but it was a fun night out at the park! Go Chiefs and go Raiders!
The softball game scheduled for today at PORTA has been cancelled due to the weather.

The Raiders baseball team scored 1 in the first, 1 in the third, and then 3 in the 5th inning on a huge bases clearing double by Josh Dawe to beat the Delavan Panthers 5-4!
Ryan Terrill reached base 4 times and was the winning pitcher going 5 and 2/3 innings, scattering 3 hits while striking out 11 and allowing only 1 earned run. Zayne Arthalony notched his first save, striking out 2 in his 1 and 1/3 innings of work!
Kam Merrill was also 2 for 3 with 2 RBIs.
The win puts the Raiders at 4 - 0 with a home game against Brimfield Friday afternoon!

Ryan Terrill blasted a 2-run home run and Joe Proehl fired a complete game shut out as the Raiders baseball team remained undefeated with a 20-0 victory over South Pekin!
Joe Proehl was the victorious pitcher scattering 2 hits while striking out 6 and the Raiders played error free baseball behind him.
On offense the Raiders pounded out 10 hits with Jaxson Robinson and Colton Watts each picking up 2 hits and Robinson and Zayne Arthalony each picking up extra base hits. It was a total team effort as 11 different Raiders had RBIs!
The Raiders play again Thursday at Delavan!
