The Raiders baseball team went 4-0 over the weekend, sweeping a pair of doubleheaders over Lincoln Jr High and Illini Bluffs!
On Friday the Raiders defeated Lincoln 20-0! Zayne and Joe combined for the 2 hit shut out, striking out 4 and not issuing a walk.
11 different Raiders hitters had RBIs, with Caden, Colten, and Jaxon knocking in 2 a piece and Joe knocking in 3! Jake, Caden, Colten, Jaxon, and Zayne all had multiple hits in the 13 hit winning effort!
Game 2 action saw the Raiders topple the Railers 6-1 behind a 3 strikeout performance by Grant! Jaxon, Malachi, Jake and Bo all chipped in an RBI in the 5 hitt attack!
Saturdays doubleheader brought in two more victories for the streaking Raiders, with a 4-2 and 11-3 victory over Illini Bluffs.
In game 1, Ryan tossed 5 and 1/3 innings for the win, striking out 10 while scattering 3 hits and 3 walks. Zayne gets the save finishing off the Tigers over the final 1 1/3 innings.
The Raiders bats pounded out 8 hits in the morning action, with Calvin and Zayne collecting multiple hits and Ryan, Kam, Zayen and Calvin collecting the RBIs for the victors.
Game 2 saw the Raiders pound out 9 hits, including a 3-3 effort from Proehl and a 2 hit effort from Grant. Joe, Calvin and Caden all had multiple RBIs in the matinee.
Jaxon fired 4 innings of 1 run ball, collecting 9 strikeouts and only allowing 2 hits. Calvin came in final inning to slam the door on the 4 win weekend!
The wins put the Raiders at 11-4 as they end their regular season on Monday at home with 8th grade night against West-Lincoln Broadwell!
CONGRATS to the students won a large candy bar AND 1 chance in the school drawing for completing the 10 emails with a selfie challenge with our Candy Bar School Fundraiser!
Midwest Central scores more runs than Illini Bluffs, takes victory on Saturday to the tune of 7-4
Midwest Central fired up the offense in the first inning. Amelia singled on a 2-0 count, scoring two runs.
Grace was on the rubber for Midwest Central. The bulldog surrendered four runs on eight hits over seven innings, striking out one.
Midwest Central collected nine hits. Amelia, Houston, and Addison each managed multiple hits for Midwest Central. Amelia went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Midwest Central in hits.
The Lady Raiders advance to the regional championship game on Tuesday. They’ll face Havana at Glasford with a game time of 4:30.
Our MCMS Lady Raiders play in the REGIONAL SEMI-FINALS today against IB at IB!!! Game starts at 12:00 PM.

The Raiders baseball team continued their strong play with a 5-0 victory over Lexington! Jaxon was the man for the home team Thursday night, tossing a complete game shutout scattering 4 hits and 2 walks to go with 8 strikeouts! The big right hander also contributed with the bat, going 1-1 with a walk and a RBI at the dish! Zayne also chipped in a hit and an RBI for the victors. In game 2 action the Minutemen and Raiders tied 2-2. Max went the distance for the Raiders, allowing one earned run on 6 hits and whiffing 5 in his 5 innings of work. Jaxon was 2-2 and Bo chipped in an RBI. The Raiders look to continue their strong play with a game at Lincoln tonight!
The Lady Raiders defeated Creve Coeur Parkview 19-4. They scored on a walk by Houston, double by Mckenzie, and an error during Julia's at bat in the first inning. The Lady Raiders scored eight runs in the fourth inning to finish the game. They team totaled six hits in the game. Grace and Mckenzie both collected two hits to lead the team. Ava surrendered four runs on nine hits over four innings, striking out two and walking one to pick up the win. The win advances the girls to their next regional game on Saturday, September 10th at 12:00 against Illini Bluffs, at Illini Bluffs.
RAIDERS BASEBALL ROLLS TO THIRD STRAIGHT VICTORY!
The Raiders baseball team defeated Peoria Norwood 12-2 for their third straight victory!
Ryan picked up the win for the Raiders. The right hander went 3 innings, allowing 2 runs on 1 hit and striking out 8. Zayne came in relief and fired 2 scoreless innings for the Raiders.
On offense the Raiders were relentless, pounding out 12 hits and scoring multiple runs in 4 of the 5 innings. Josh, Ryan, Kamden, Zayne, and Joe all collected 2 hits on the afternoon and Dawe, Terrill, Merrill, Arthalony, Joe and JJ all had RBIs for the club.
The win moves the Raiders win streak to 3 in a row and 4 of their last 5 as they move to 9-4 on the season and await a home game with Lexington on Thursday!
8th graders designed their own hoodies as part of a “back to school” activity!
The baseball team will host Norwood tonight for a 4:15 PM game.

The Lady Raiders defeated Illini Central on Friday with a score of 18-3. Amelia Meeker, Grace Meeks, Katie Parkin, Julia Rasmussen, Emma Markle, and Arriah Timbrook each picked up a hit in the win.
The Lady Raiders kickoff regionals at home this Thursday, September 8th. Game time is 4:30 PM.

RAIDERS LOOK GREAT PICKING UP WIN #8!
The Raiders baseball team rode strong pitching and defense to an 7-2 victory over Dee Mack Thursday night! Trailing 2-1 heading into the 6th inning, the Raiders bat exploded for 3 runs on a triple by Ryan Terrill followed by a walk by Kam Merrill, a single from Grant Rasmussen and a big 2 RBI double from Zayne Arthalony. The Raiders then tacked 3 huge insurance runs on in the 7th on an RBI single from Josh Dawe, an RBI double by Ryan Terrill and another RBI single from Grant Rasmussen.
Zayne Arthalony was the victor on the mound, firing a complete game scattering 1 hit, 3 walks and whiffing 5 all while allowing no earned runs! The Raiders defense was also solid all night long behind Arthalony’s strong effort on the mound.
On offense the Raiders pounded out 10 hits with Josh Dawe, Ryan Terrill, and Grant Rasmussen all picking up 2 hits with RBI doubles by Kam Merrill, Dawe, Arthalony and Terrill.
The win moves the Raiders to 8-4 on the season as they await their matchup on Tuesday with Peoria Norwood!
Yesterday was our kick-off assembly for the MCMS Fundraiser! We had 22 students sell a box of candy bars in just one night!!! We are proud of our Raider Rockstars and can't wait to see if we can reach our goal of 360 boxes!
Both the softball and baseball teams will travel to DeeMack for games tonight. Games start at 4:15.

Trailing 6-5 heading into the top of the 7th, the Raiders baseball team found a way to scratch two runs across to defeat Pekin Broadmoor 7-6! Zayne Arthalony got things going in the 7th with a single and a stolen base to get into scoring position. JJ Proehl then delivered a clutch 2 out hit to score Arthalony and then scored what would be the game winning run on a hit by Jaxon Tumilty!
Zayne Arthalony picked up the win in relief, whiffing 3 and walking none on no hits in his two innings of work.
The Raiders offense had 11 hits on the afternoon, with Ryan Terrill, Zayne Arthalony, Kam Merrill and Grant Rasmussen all collecting 2 hits and Rasmussen, Joe Proehl, Arthalony and Tumilty all chipping in an RBI apiece.
The Raiders look to keep it going with a matchup against Dee-Mack on Thursday!
Midwest Central defeated Rankin 14-4 on Monday.
Midwest Central pulled away for good with five runs in the third inning. In the third, an error scored one run for Midwest Central, Emma Junkin doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs, an error scored one run for Midwest Central, and Mckenzie Gale grounded out, scoring one run.
Midwest Central notched six runs in the sixth inning. The offensive firepower by Midwest Central was led by Grace Meeks, Mckenzie Gale, and Julia Rasmussen, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
Grace Meeks was in the pitcher's circle for Midwest Central. The pitcher went six innings, allowing four runs on six hits, striking out four and walking one.
