This morning kicked off the first FCA meeting at MCMS! FCA is Fellowship of Christian Athletes, once a month all MCMS students have the option to attend, eat donuts, and participate in fellowship lead by Mr. Bernhardt and local pastors. The middle school always has a great turnout at these meetings!

This week, the MC Board of Education treated staff to a little perk me up! The Lil Roasted mobile coffee trailer was on site at every building and staff members were able to grab a yummy drink!
THANK YOU to the MC Board and THANK YOU to Roasted!

Gooooooooo Lady Raiders!

The 7th grade Lady Raiders continue to dominate both sides of the court on Tuesday evening in Green Valley! These ladies were relentless from top to bottom and refused to allow South Pekin to put any points up on the scoreboard. Kallie led the Raiders with 12 points, while Peyton added 8 and Izzy added 6. Sophia was in the right spot at the right times taking away 6 steals from the Tornadoes and Lydia was the team leader in rebounding. This team continues to move the ball well with 15 assists on 19 made baskets, Kynlie leading the way with four on their way to a 38-0 victory.
The 8th grade Lady Raiders got themselves back in the win column thanks to a solid defensive effort by only giving up 14 points to South Pekin. The Raiders were only up by 7 going into the final quarter when they shut the door on the Tornadoes and outscored them 9-0 in the final six minutes. Kenzie and Peyton led the way with 9 points each as they defeated South Pekin 30-14.
The Lady Raiders will face a solid test Thursday evening at HOME as they take on Broadmoor at 5:30 PM!

The 7th grade Lady Raiders went turkey hunting Monday evening and came away with another dominate victory. After a back and forth 4-2 start, the Raiders went on an 18-2 run to end the first half and never looked back. A total of nine girls contributed in the scoring column with an impressive 13 assists on 18 field goals made. Peyton led with 13 points while Kynlie came off the bench with a big 8 points. Nora & Kallie dominated the boards with four rebounds each while Tenley was a point guard's nightmare coming away with 7 steals! The Raiders took game one by a score of 38-14.
Game two of the evening was extremely physical from start to finish. The Turks completely dominated the first half of the game as they went into the locker room up 23-3. The Raiders weren't going to allow that to continue as they matched Tremont's aggressiveness the entire 2nd half and outscored Tremont 20-8 in the 2nd half to only come up short by a score of 31-23. Kenzie led the team with 10 points, Julia was right behind her adding 8. Charlie wasn't about to let Tremont's point guard breathe as she came away with 5 steals on the night. The team would like to send good thoughts and prayers to Ayla as she suffered a broken finger very early in the game. We hope to see her back on the court sooner than later!

Today, the Lady Raiders hit the road to take on Tremont at 5:30 PM.
Gooooo Raiders!

Mrs. Shay is carrying on Mrs. Hintz tradition, homemade chocolate chip cookies for our baseball sportsmanship pin winners! Joe Proehl received his pin in the Regional Championship and Colton Watts received his pin in the Sectional Championship. Great job representing Midwest Central and yourselves with an understanding of and commitment to fair play, ethical behavior and integrity, and general goodwill toward an opponent and teammates!

The Raiders battled to the very end on Friday in their State Championship game and got the go ahead run to the plate in the bottom of the 7th inning, but fell just short 3 - 1 to a very good Beecher team. Raider Nation is SO PROUD!
Coach Roberts would like to thank Raider Nation for showing up big for the boys on Friday. They were awesome! It is a definitely a season he will never forget. He also wants to wish the players the best of luck in their upcoming winter sports season.

There were MANY people that went above and beyond for the Boys Baseball Team journey to the State Tournament!
We would like to give a little extra THANKS to Mrs. Matthews (principal), Mrs. Mattson (athletic director), Mrs. Ramme (transportation director), and Ms. Danner (middle school head cook) for their planning, assistance, and extra time worked this past week to help make the middle school state experience so great for our students.

Once again it was a great day to be a MS XC Running Raider! 100% of our runners that ran today set personal bests for the season. Some beat their best time by minutes today. The weather was just right for running. I was truly amazed and proud on how well the team ran today. One parent thought I had a tear in my eye at end of the race. Could have been but I'm not saying either way. Below are their places, times, and how much their time today beat their best for the year so far. Next Friday the team travels to Bloomington to compete in their IESA Sectionals.
Jaina Butler placed 72nd with a time of 14:03 - :30 faster
Alice Brackney placed 107th with a time of 15:07 - 1:30 faster

Gooooo Raiders!

The 7th grade Lady Raiders continued to dominate the defensive side of the ball on Tuesday evening by holding their second consecutive opponent under 10 points in a game! They jumped out to a comfortable 17-5 lead at halftime, then pressed the gas pedal to the floor in the second half as they cruised to a 42-8 victory over Limestone Walters. There were THIRTEEN girls in the scoring column with Tenley, Peyton and Zoey leading the way with 6 points each.
The 8th grade Lady Raiders were once again hot out of the gate with their defensive pressure and offensive strikes taking an early 20-5 lead going into halftime. Their work was not done as they continued to make things very difficult for Limestone on both sides of the court taking this home opener victory by a score of 37-12. Kenzie led all Raiders with 15 points and Julia added some hard-nosed points in the paint with 12.
The Raiders have their second home game this Thursday as they take on Dee-Mack at 5:30pm!

Happy National Custodian Appreciation Day to Matthew, Edwin, Amanda, Dave, Greg, and Bob! You are the BEST around and Midwest Central is lucky to have you on our team! Thank you for all your hard work every day!

We celebrated Ashton Campbell today during our 8th Grade Recognition Night. Ashton, continue to better yourself in everything you do.
