May 26th will be the 8th graders’ last day of school.
In an effort to promote unity and to encourage high school graduation, students will be given a Class of 2026 t-shirt to wear for the 8th Grade Transition Ceremony events that day. They will also participate in a symbolic physical transition to the High School on the day of the ceremony.
The Ceremony will start at 11:30 AM ... and, we are excited to announce that families are invited to attend this year! It will also be posted online for those that are unable to attend.
The following is an estimated order of events for the portion of the Transition Ceremony that will take place at the Middle School:
• Awards – Math, English/Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, Chorus, Band, PE, Attendance, Honor Roll, Rising Star, IPA Award, DAR Award
• Reading of Pledge For Success
• Pledge for Success Certificate Presentation to 8th Graders
• Launch Address by Staff/Administration
The Middle School portion of the ceremony will conclude with a class picture and a cake celebration. Each student will receive a copy of the class picture at a later date.
Around 12:30 PM, students will be transported to the High School for the completion of the student portion of the Transition Ceremony. Students will be greeted by a welcoming team, receive a tour of their “new” school, and attend a Prepare for Success address by High School Principal, Mr. Lazarz. Students will be allowed to ride the buses home from the High School or parents may pick them up after the event, which will conclude at the end of the school day.
Today the Scholastic Bowl team will hit the road to take on Tremont at 4:00 PM.
