The Raiders ran today at home for the second time this year. Today was a little warmer than our last race at home. Jaina Butler placed 7th with a time of 15:13, Alice Brackney placed 24th with a time of 19:13, and Ruby Wade placed 26th with a time of 22:15. The boys were led by Reid Sidders place of 18th and a time of 16:23. Carson Campbell placed 22nd with a time of 16:32, Noa Stage placed 24th with a time of 17:50, Liam Tumility placed 35th with a time of 23:06, and Tyler Vanderwulp placed 36th with a time of 24:20. The Raiders run next Thursday at IC for their next meet.

The Raiders baseball team came up just short at Olympia 8-7. Joe Proehl, Jase Canada and Tyler Byrd all had multiple hits for the Raiders and Proehl, Canada, Breckin Guy and Kaiden Hill all had RBIs. Tyler Byrd had 2 doubles. The Raiders now sit at 10-5 and look to close out their regular season with a home game against Hollis on Thursday.

The Raiders baseball team made 8th grade night a memorable one, defeating West Lincoln Broadwell in a fun game on Monday night 12-6! 8th grader Joe Proehl picked up the win on the bump, racking up 8 strikeouts in 4 and 1/3 innings. 8th grader Johnny McFarland came in and finished the job, tossing 2 and 2/3 innings while allowing only 1 hit! The Raiders got big production from the top of the lineup, with Proehl reaching base 4 times and going 3-3 with a double. Jase Canada also picked up 2 hits and A huge bases clearing double in the bottom of the 2nd! 8th graders Colten Watts, Evan Schmidt and Kaiden Hill also had big RBIs for the now 10-4 Raiders! The Raiders then made it a clean sweep in game 2 with a 3-1 victory! Sam Dierker picked up the win on the mound with 5 strikeouts and Connor Coile had a big 2 RBI double! The boys next game is Tuesday against Olympia on the road.

The Raiders baseball team had a busy but productive weekend on the fields, winning 3 of their 4 games! On Friday night the Raiders plated 5 runs in the first inning and never looked back en route to a 15 - 1 victory. Joe Proehl picked up the win for Midwest Central, allowing 1 run and striking out 4. Johnny McFarland came in to finish the game and picked up 4 strikeouts of his own! The Raiders pounded out 12 hits, with Jase Canada, Kaiden Hill, Breckin Guy, and Evan Schmidt picking up multiple hits. Evan Schmidt also added 4 RBI which included a bases clearing double that opened the game up in the first inning. Canada, Noah Coffey and Kaiden Hill also added multiple RBIs for the Raiders. The Raiders made it a clean sweep in game 2, downing the Trojans 8 - 1! Sam Dierker and Brayson Purdy each tossed a scoreless inning. Graham Shissler, Trent Butler, and Sam Dierker each picked up a RBI! On Saturday morning the Raiders fought hard in game 1, but a big inning ultimately cost them as they fell to Illini Bluffs 8 - 2 in game 1. Kaiden Hill had 2 hits, Joe Proehl had a hit and a RBI, and Evan Schmidt had a double. In game 2 Breckin Guy was dealing on the mound, shutting down the Tigers 10 - 0 in the run rule affair. Guy had 12 strikeouts, no walks, and scattered only 2 hits to pick up the win. Connor Coile added 2 RBIs and Aden Bell was a big hitter for Midwest Central, going 2 for 3 with 3 RBIs! Brayson Purdy also picked up a RBI for the Raiders! The Raiders head into their 8th grade Recognition Night at 9 - 4 with a big game against West Lincoln Broadwell tonight. Come out and support the Raiders!

Today the MS XC team ran at PORTA. All the runners ran a great race, with many beating personal goals they set for themselves prior to running. Jaina Butler led the girls team by medaling in 20th place with a time of 15:00.9. Alice Brackney ran her best race of the year by placing 93rd with a time of 18:03.4. The boys were led by Carson Campbell placing 92nd with a time of 16:20.9. Tyler Vanderwulp ran today like he was possessed by placing 106th with a time of 17:41.2. Ashton Campbell ran a solid race by finishing in 109th place with a time of 18:02.6. Noa Stage and KonLee Ashby battled each other throughout the race. Noa edged KonLee at the finish by placing 123rd with a time of 20:12.4. KonLee finished in 124th with a time of 20:14.9. Liam Tumility continues to improve by finishing 128th with a time of 22:46.3. The Raiders next race at home on the 19th.

MCMS Lady Raiders Softball received a #2 seed in Regionals. They play Saturday September 14 at 12:00 PM at 120 S Locust St Maroa, IL 61756. vs Downs Tri-Valley. If they win they, they will play for the Regional Championship on Tuesday September 17th at 4:30 PM in Maroa again. Teams TBD. LETS GO RAIDERS!

The Raiders baseball team split a doubleheader with Lexington on Thursday night, winning the first game 3-1! Griffin Tudela was strong on the mound, firing a complete game while striking out 4 and allowing 1 earned run to pick up the win! Brayson Purdy picked up a hit and an RBI in the game and the Raiders played great defense all game! In game 2 the Raiders had their chances but ultimately fell 4-3 in a well played game by both sides. Remi Arthalony, Connor Coile and Tyler Byrd all had hits for the Raiders. Byrd finished the game with 2 RBI. The Raiders are back at it on today with an away matchup at Lincoln Junior High!

The Raiders baseball team used great defense, strong pitching, and small ball to take down Peoria Norwood 4-1 on Tuesday night! Jase Canada tossed a complete game gem, striking out 11 while scattering 2 hits and a walk to pick up the victory. Noah Coffey was 2-3 with a huge 2 RBI hit in the first inning and the Raiders executed some timely bunts to extend the lead late in the game. The Raiders now sit at 8-3 with a home game against Lexington on Thursday!

The Raiders finally got to run on their home course today.  All the runners that have ran the last 2 years for us ran their best time for our course today. We compare their times that they have ran on the same course to determine their growth. The girls team as led by Jaina Butler, who placed 8th with a time of 15:01.  Alice Brackney placed 22nd with a time of 20:37. Ruby Wade placed 24th with a time of 22:12. The boys were led today by Reid Sidders, who placed 4th with a time of 15:30.  Carson Campbell placed 8th with a time of 16:34. Noa Stage placed 14th with a time of 20:51. Tyler Vanderwulp placed 16th with a time of 20:52.  Conlee Ashby, who was running in his first meet this year, placed 16th with a time of 21:07.  Liam Tumilty placed 17th with a time of 23:14.  The Raiders run next at the PORTA Invitational on Saturday.

Midwest Central Lady Raiders defeated Norwood Tornadoes 15-0 on Monday thanks in part to 10 runs in the first inning. Mckenzie drew a walk, scoring one run, Kenzie singled, scoring one run, Julia singled, scoring one run, Ayla drew a walk, scoring one run, Nevaeh drew a walk, scoring one run, Libby doubled, scoring three runs, Mckenzie hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, and Sophia drew a walk, scoring one run. Libby led Midwest Central Lady Raiders with three runs batted in from the number nine spot in the lineup. Libby went 1-for-1 on the day. Libby, Kenzie, Julia, and Alyssa each collected one hit for Midwest Central Lady Raiders. Midwest Central Lady Raiders had patience at the plate, piling up 14 walks for the game. Emma and Peyton led the team with two bases on balls each. Midwest Central Lady Raiders didn't commit a single error in the field. Kallie turned a double play in the game after catching a line drive and tagging first. Sophia earned the win for Midwest Central Lady Raiders. The starting pitcher gave up two hits and zero runs over three innings and walked none. The hurler struck out three, pushing her over 100 strikeouts for the regular season with 102! The Lady Raiders are now 17-3 and travel to Moroa on Saturday for their first regional game. Good luck, ladies!
