Attention Raider Community - Today (Wednesday, May 3rd) we are doing a car crash simulation at the High School for students.
There will be a multitude of emergency vehicles, possibly including Life Flight, involved in the simulation. First responders will be arriving and setting up starting around noon with the simulation occuring a little later in the afternoon.
Please do not worry, we are all okay at Raider Nation! :-)

The MCYWC would like to present our Family Movie Night!
One of our goals as a club is to create connections with families and community members. We will be hosting a Family Movie Night at Veterans Park on Saturday, May, 27th, 2023.
Our main goal is to provide an event to support time together; there is no admission fee, and popcorn is FREE!!! There will be concessions and a 50/50. The funds raised from concessions and the 50/50 will support wrestlers’ summer camp fees and new wrestling mats. Although there is a fundraising component, you are not required to give to attend. This event is free to all.
We appreciate all the support and look forward to seeing more kids involved! We are so grateful to be a part of this community!! 🖤

Each year, two 8th grades students are chosen to represent Midwest Central Middle School at the Central Illinois Valley Illinois Principals Association recognition breakfast. This year we were privileged to honor Audrey and Jacob for being outstanding Raiders! They truly represent the Raider Way in all that they do. We are thankful for their dedication to being amazing humans all around! Congratulations Audrey and Jacob!

Henry's ELA students were hard at work last week revising their analytical paragraphs for the short story "7th Grade" by Gary Soto. Students have been implementing Point, Evidence, Explanation and Elaboration in their writing and using transitions. Well done Raiders!

Last night the Scholastic Bowl team traveled to Greenview for the Regional Championship. In the first match against Greenview we cruised to a comfortable 255 to 155 victory. They followed up with a big win against New Holland 310-135.
The Final round was set for the rematch and revenge match against Illini Central for the championship. It was a back and forth and tense match, but we lost in the end 250 to 210 finishing our season at 7-3.
For the night, Jackson answered 14 toss ups and Audrey with 11 with multiple other teammates contributing. The team showed great growth and improvement over the season. Mr. Bernhardt can say that he believes that they tried their best and had no regrets during the championship. He is proud of them and hopes they can take what they learned over the season and apply it to their future schooling and life.
Coach Bernhardt wants to thank all Raider families and athletes for a great 1st season!
