The Midwest Central Lady Raiders captured a 12-0 victory over Peoria Christian on Thursday for their home and season opener.
The Raiders worked together to rack up multiple hits in the win. They got on the board in the first inning after Mckenzie doubled, scoring two runs.
Ava stepped in the circle first for Midwest Central, surrendering two hits and zero runs over two innings, striking out two and walking none. Sophia pitched one inning of zero-run ball for Midwest Central Lady Raiders in relief. She allowed zero hits, striking out three and walking none. Mckenzie threw the final inning and gave up one hit and zero runs over one inning, striking out one and walking none.

Local farmer Jason Proehl recently directed a $5,000 Bayer Fund America’s Farmers Grow Communities donation to Midwest Central CUSD #191.

MS softball practice starts on July 24th at 9:00 am at the MS softball field. MS baseball practice starts on July 31st at 5:00 pm at the MS baseball field. MS cross country practice starts on July 31st at 8:00 am at the MS cross country course at the HS. You must have a current physical to practice.

The Manito-Forest City Rotary Club is offering a $1,000 scholarship to students that are in a(n) certified trade school, college, or university AND have completed a minimum of 24 credit hours with at least a 2.5 GPA. Open to 5th through 8th grade students.
Practice begins July 31st at 8:00 AM; a brief parent meeting to follow at 9:15 AM
Practices: Monday-Thursday 8:00-9:30 AM until school begins and 3:15-4:30 PM after school starts
Meeting place: HS North door parking lot
Want to be part of the team but worried about softball or baseball conflicts? No problem, we will adjust your training as needed to accommodate your schedule.
Please be sure to register and have an updated physical on file before practice begins!
