7th grade won their first regional volleyball game against Illini Central 25-17 and 25-9. Abby Markle had 7 aces and Amelia Meeker had 5. Eliza Kerley had 10 hits with 3 blocks. The entire team worked together on and off the court. The Raiders will play Lincoln Chester Monday at 4:30 in Marquette Heights.
Our MCH and MCMS band and chorus concert will be held today at the high school gymnasium. Join us at 2 pm as our students share their talent and preparation!
7th Grade were engaged during the Vocab Review Game, synthesizing words to create short stories with context clues. Well done!
Tomorrow the 7th grade volleyball team will compete in their regional game. They will play at 10:00 AM and the game will be at Georgetowne.

Tonight’s volleyball game is against Edison at 6:00 PM. Its 8th grade recognition! The theme will be Raider night so come dressed in Raider colors or Raider gear.

MCMS students are participating in a Google Doodle Contest. Students will create their own original Google Doodle that is focused on what each individual does for self-care. These 6th grade students have done a fabulous job creating their own special doodles for the contest. After school voting/judging is complete all finished doodles will be forwarded to Google to compete in the corporate contest. Students have a chance to win prizes including college scholarship money. It’s that time again for track sign ups! Students - there is a sign-up sheet by Dr. Bowden’s room. Remember that you MUST have a current sports physical turned into the school before the first day of practice.
The volleyball team will travel to Illini Central. The first game is scheduled to start at 5:00 PM.

School for tomorrow, Thursday, February 17th will be cancelled as a result of the impending winter storm. An announcement about evening activities will be made tomorrow.
The bus barn crew is taking advantage of the warmer weather and getting the buses all washed up. Great job guys! Our Raiders will be riding home in style. :-)

The High School FFA is having a canned food drive competition. The homeroom that is able to donate the most pounds of food by the end of the drive will win an ice cream party and the teacher of that class will receive a $25 gift card! The deadline for the drive is next Friday, February 25th.
