Third grade had a very special visitor today! A MCHS graduate, Emily Terrill, and her frogs! Emily is a PhD student in the Fischer Lab at U of I.
Note - These frogs are NOT poisonous. We actually learned that poison frogs become poisonous by the insects that they consume. These frogs have been raised on fruit flies and fruit flies are NOT poisonous :-)

Join our team!

5th Graders enjoyed a day learning about President Lincoln at the Lincoln Museum in Springfield.

THANK YOU Nurse Denise, Nurse Niki, and Nurse Candis... you ladies are the best!

We had a wonderful Muffins with Moms this morning! It was wonderful to begin our day with sweet treats and smiles.

Students at MCPS had the opportunity to visit virtually with author Chris Grabenstein! Mr. Grabenstein is the author of "Escape from Mr. Lemoncello's Library", which was our 2023 school wide read aloud. Students learned about the writing process and got to ask him a lot of great questions. They were such an attentive audience!

Students got creative for Krazy Hair Day!

Attention Raider Community - Today (Wednesday, May 3rd) we are doing a car crash simulation at the High School for students.
There will be a multitude of emergency vehicles, possibly including Life Flight, involved in the simulation. First responders will be arriving and setting up starting around noon with the simulation occuring a little later in the afternoon.
Please do not worry, we are all okay at Raider Nation! :-)

The MCYWC would like to present our Family Movie Night!
One of our goals as a club is to create connections with families and community members. We will be hosting a Family Movie Night at Veterans Park on Saturday, May, 27th, 2023.
Our main goal is to provide an event to support time together; there is no admission fee, and popcorn is FREE!!! There will be concessions and a 50/50. The funds raised from concessions and the 50/50 will support wrestlers’ summer camp fees and new wrestling mats. Although there is a fundraising component, you are not required to give to attend. This event is free to all.
We appreciate all the support and look forward to seeing more kids involved! We are so grateful to be a part of this community!! 🖤

A huge THANK YOU to the anonymous donor who provided lunch from Ms Bridget's To Go for all Primary staff!!!

Miss James is finishing her student teaching experience this week in Mrs. Thompson’s 2nd grade class, so we are celebrating her! We have loved having her and are beyond excited that she will get to join our staff in the fall as a kindergarten teacher! Congratulations!
