We will be selling our fundraiser candy bars tomorrow during both lunch hours! The cost is
$1.00. And speaking of the fundraiser…the following students have won a large candy bar AND 1
chance in the school drawing for completing the 10 emails with a selfie challenge. They are:
Grant Rasmussen, Jake Mitchell, Brayson Purdy, Kenzie Doty, Elizabeth Colson, Kendall
Gordon, Nora Jockisch, Jodan Kraft, Julia Rasmussen, Lillian Thornquist, Maddie Goza, and
Drake Payne. Please come up to the office at this time to get your picture taken and candy bar.
Midwest Central defeated Illini Bluffs on Saturday with a score of 7-4. Grace was on the rubber
for Midwest Central. She surrendered four runs on eight hits over seven innings, striking out
one. Midwest Central collected nine hits. Amelia, Houston, and Addison each managed multiple
hits. Amelia went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the team in hits. The Lady Raiders advance to the
regional championship game tomorrow night at Illini Bluffs. Game time is 4:30 pm. To show
our school support for our Lady Raiders, wear your Raider gear to school tomorrow to cheer
them on!!
The Raiders baseball team went 4-0 over the weekend, sweeping a pair of doubleheaders over
Lincoln Jr High and Illini Bluffs! On Friday the Raiders defeated Lincoln 20-0! Arthalony and
Proehl combined for the 2 hit shut out, striking out 4 and not issuing a walk. 11 different Raiders
hitters had RBIs, with Abbott, Watts Tumilty knocking in 2 a piece and Proehl knocking in 3!
Balster, Abbott, Watts, Tumilty and Arthalony all had multiple hits in the 13 hit winning
effort! Game 2 action saw the Raiders topple the Railers 6-1 behind a 3 strikeout performance by Rasmussen! Palmer, Carroll, Balster and Schnoor all chipped in an RBI in the 5 hitt attack!
Saturdays doubleheader brought in two more victories for the streaking Raiders, with a 4-2 and
11-3 victory over Illini Bluffs. In game 1, Terrill tossed 5 and 1/3 innings for the win, striking out
10 while scattering 3 hits and 3 walks. Arthalony gets the save finishing off the Tigers over the
final 1 1/3 innings. The Raiders bats pounded out 8 hits in the morning action, with Young and
Arthalony collecting multiple hits and Terrill, Merrill, Arthalony and Young collecting the RBIs
for the victors. Game 2 saw the Raiders pound out 9 hits, including a 3-3 effort from Proehl and
a 2 hit effort from Rasmussen. Proehl, Young and Abbott all had multiple RBIs in the matinee.
Tumilty fired 4 innings of 1 run ball, collecting 9 strikeouts and only allowing 2 hits. Young came
in final inning to slam the door on the 4 win weekend! The wins put the Raiders at 11-4 as they
end their regular season on Monday at home with 8th grade night against West-Lincoln
Broadwell.
