The Raiders baseball team had a busy but productive weekend on the fields, winning 3 of their 4 games! On Friday night the Raiders plated 5 runs in the first inning and never looked back en route to a 15 - 1 victory. Joe Proehl picked up the win for Midwest Central, allowing 1 run and striking out 4. Johnny McFarland came in to finish the game and picked up 4 strikeouts of his own! The Raiders pounded out 12 hits, with Jase Canada, Kaiden Hill, Breckin Guy, and Evan Schmidt picking up multiple hits. Evan Schmidt also added 4 RBI which included a bases clearing double that opened the game up in the first inning. Canada, Noah Coffey and Kaiden Hill also added multiple RBI for the Raiders. The Raiders made it a clean sweep in game 2, downing the Trojans 8 - 1! Sam Dierker and Brayson Purdy each tossed a scoreless inning. Graham Shissler, Trent Butler, and Sam Dierker each picked up RBI In game 2 Breckin Guy was dealing on the mound, shutting down the Tigers 10 - 0 in the run rule affair. Guy had 12 strikeouts, no walks and scattered only 2 hits to pick up the win. Connor Coile added 2 RBI and Aden Bell was a big hitter for Midwest Central, going 2 for 3 with 3 RBI! Brayson Purdy also picked up an RBI for the Raiders! The Raider head into their 8th grade Recognition Night at 9 - 4 with a big game against West Lincoln Broadwell tonight. Come out and support the Raiders and help celebrate our 13 8th graders, Layne, Tyler, Trenton, Noah, Breckin, Kaiden, Jake, Johnny, Joe, Brayson, Evan, Graham, and Colton.
We wanted to give our softball team a big shout out for their outstanding season, ending their season with a record of 17-3. We are all so proud of the hard work and dedication you put into each game and how you represent Midwest Central. We are excited to see what the future holds for all you ladies! Great job!
